The origins of HH Fire go back to 1981, when founder Glenn Horton joined the Essex Fire Brigade. During his career as a fire officer, Glenn served in a range of roles including operations, training and fire prevention.

In 2000, Glenn was awarded Chartered Fire Engineer status by the Institute of Fire Engineers. At the time, there were only 13 registered Chartered Fire Engineers worldwide.

Glenn established HH Fire in 2009 and quickly secured work on a number of prestigious projects. The company has continued to apply the same high technical standards that Glenn has upheld throughout his career in fire engineering. He has built a team of highly skilled and dedicated fire engineers who support clients across the UK and internationally, using the latest tools and techniques.

Lauren began her career after graduating with a Fire Engineering degree from Leeds University in 2009. Since then, she has worked on a wide range of high-profile, multidisciplinary projects. Drawing on her strong technical knowledge of Fire Engineering, Lauren has played a key role in securing regulatory approvals for the projects she has supported.

Lauren has worked across multiple sectors, including residential, commercial, industrial and rail. She has contributed to many aspects of Fire Engineering in several countries, gaining valuable knowledge and applying a variety of codes and standards along the way.

At HH Fire, Lauren’s work is now primarily focused on the residential sector. Her role covers all stages of a project, from concept design through to completion, for both new builds and existing buildings. Since the Grenfell tragedy, she has been heavily involved in assessing cladding on existing buildings to address safety concerns.

John graduated from the Letterkenny Institute of Technology in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Fire Technology. Since then, he has worked in the fire safety industry for over a decade, including more than two years in Ireland and extensive experience across the UK.

John has experience in developing fire strategies but is primarily involved in fire safety during the construction stage of residential buildings. His work also includes routine fire safety inspections, such as pre-occupation fire safety assessments. In addition, John has significant experience carrying out fire risk assessments in residential buildings to meet the requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. As part of this, he has undertaken both non-invasive and invasive surveys and developed strong expertise in passive fire protection.

More recently, John has been involved in cladding replacement projects, providing support to clients throughout the design and construction stages.

The first point of contact for HH Fire, delivering professional and focused customer service with a friendly approach. She has a broad range of experience across office management, administration and finance, while also carrying out her primary role as Personal Assistant to the Managing Director.

Anneliese is highly organised and detail-oriented, with strong multitasking skills and a clear understanding of regulatory obligations and corporate compliance. She ensures that sensitive, privileged and confidential information is handled with the highest level of discretion.

In addition to her core responsibilities, Anneliese plays a key role in supporting the wider business operations, helping to keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

Georgie has extensive experience in client communications and project management, with a strong focus on organisation, streamlining processes and prioritising work effectively. She manages the technical administration of EWS1s, oversees the influx of new business, and handles daily client enquiries with efficiency and professionalism.

Georgie plays a key role in coordinating the team’s time and projects, ensuring deadlines are met and work runs smoothly across the business. With oversight of HH Fire’s broad project portfolio, she is a central point of contact for both clients and colleagues and is a valued asset to the team.

Alan graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Fire Risk Engineering. He went on to broaden his technical knowledge by obtaining a Higher National Diploma in Architectural Technology, which led him to relocate from Scotland in 2018 to join the HH Fire team.

Alan’s expertise covers a wide range of work within HH Fire, with a core focus on fire risk assessments, site inspections and the review of detailed design drawings. He is also involved in preparing Design Fire Strategy reports and carrying out intrusive surveys of existing buildings. Alan prepares detailed reports on his findings, particularly in relation to passive fire protection measures.

Trenton graduated from the University of Central Lancashire in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Fire Safety. Shortly after graduating, he joined HH Fire in October 2018 and quickly became a key member of the team.

Since joining, Trenton has demonstrated a strong work ethic and a clear drive to build his knowledge and experience across all projects. He is committed to delivering efficient, high-quality service to clients and plays an active role in achieving successful project outcomes.

Trenton is highly motivated and enjoys working collaboratively to ensure the best possible results for clients and future building occupants.

Nicolas is a qualified Fire Safety Engineer with a multidisciplinary range of fire-related expertise. He graduated from Ulster University in 2006 with a master’s degree in Fire Safety Engineering.

With over 19 years of experience, Nicolas has worked on the design of complex fire detection and suppression systems, as well as producing fire strategy reports for a wide range of projects. His experience spans residential buildings, large educational premises and healthcare facilities, and includes carrying out fire risk assessments and developing action plans.

In recent years, façade cladding and fire stopping inspections have become a key part of Nicolas’s work. From non-intrusive checks to fully destructive surveys, he has built a deep understanding of a wide variety of fire safety systems.

Nicolas also supports HH Fire’s litigation department and is involved in several high-profile cases. He conducts detailed inspections and reviews of fire safety designs, including system performance, and prepares clear, impartial reports to support clients in court. In addition, he specialises in reviewing fire safety documentation and ensuring legal compliance.

Darren has extensive knowledge of the construction industry, developed over more than 23 years. His passion for the sector began on the commercial side of the industry, where he refined his skills before progressing into project management.

He spent 15 years as a Project Clerk of Works, focusing on large-scale developments across London, followed by six years as a Senior Projects Clerk specialising in fire compartmentation and external wall design.

Darren joined HH Fire in December 2020 as part of the site inspection team. He works on EWS1 projects and carries out on-site inspections and investigations.

Dawn began her career training as a legal secretary before moving into the construction industry as a property and construction administrator. Over eight years, she developed strong customer service skills and a keen eye for detail, which she has successfully applied to her role as a Credit Controller.

Dawn is responsible for HH Fire’s day-to-day financial transactions, including raising invoices and statements, resolving account queries, and ensuring that all invoices are paid within agreed timeframes.
